Three-Peat!

For the second year in a row, the Varsity Blues faced the McGill Martlets in the OUA Women's Final. Toronto had defeated York 5-2 in one semi-final and the McGill ladies rolled past host Western 6-1 in the other.

The day began with U of T dropping three tight doubles matches to go down 0-1. The Varsity Blues went down 0-3 as Anastasia Tikhomirova and Clarissa Binkley lost two tough fought matches. With Toronto needing to win the remaining single matches, Isabel Jarosz sparked a comeback by winning her match against Ceren Baysan 6-2, 6-1. After winning the first set 6-2, Natalia Lech faught off a set point to win the second set 7-5 and the match against Hannah Kasiri. Christina Dykun faught off a match point in the third to reach a tiebreaker, where she won. She defeated Alex Myagkova 6-3, 3-6, 7-6. With the score tied 3-3, the attention shifted to court 4. Ekaterina Alchits was feeling the extra pressure as everyone's eyes are focusing on her and her opponent, Alison Weinburg. Alchits did not disappoint as she fought back from a set and match point down to win her match and to capture the OUA Women's Tennis Championships for the U of T Varsity Blues for the third consecutive year.

Congratulations to the entire team and coaching staff for an amazing season.
